How Can severe Itchy Bumps On The Back Be Treated?
I have some kind of itchy bumps that appeared awhile back. I now noticed they are on my elbow , knee caps, top of my right hand. I have had simmilar bumps around my private part s although those bumps seem to change size, dissappear some times. Can you tell me what I might be dealing with and what I need to do to get rid of this problem.?
The location and characteristics of the itchy bumps are suggestive of possible scabies which is a mite infestation. Treatment is with Permethrin cream cream. Two or more applications a week apart may be required to eliminate scabies.
Also, bedding, towels, clothes etc need to be washed in hot water. Everybody in the household will require treatment. Please be advised to follow up with your primary provider to confirm the diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal,
